Use the Citation Part term to filter Citations based on one of their part values. Returns true when the part's value passes the filter condition described by the term's comparison properties.

Citation parts are determined by the Citation's GEDCOM records, by the associated Source's GEDCOM records, and/or by the citation and source elements defined by custom GEDCOM records or other custom data provided in the genealody data. Use the Record Browser to see Citation and Source part names.

Properties

Part

Use the Part property to identify the part (AKA field, citation element, or source element) whose value you want to evaluate.

From

Use the From property to indicate the origin of the part.

Citation parts may originate in Citation records, in its associated Source, or both. To restrict the origin, choose one of the following choices:

  • Citation or Source — the part may originate in either the Citation or its associated Source. GedSite searches for the part in the Citation first, and if the part is not present there, it searches for the part in the Source.
  • Citation — the part must originate in the Citation.
  • Source — the part must originate in the Source.

Operator

Choose an Operator from the pull-down menu.

For all comparisons, letter case does not matter, so "a" matches "A", for example.

The choices are:

  • Equals – Returns true if the text in the Citation part and the comparand text are equal.
  • Does not equal – Returns true if the text in the Citation part and the comparand text are not equal.
  • Empty – Returns true if the text in the Citation part is empty.
  • Not empty – Returns true if the text in the Citation part is not empty.
  • Starts with – Returns true if the text in the Citation part starts with the comparand text.
  • Does not start with – Returns true if the text in the Citation part does not start with the comparand text.
  • Contains – Returns true if the comparand text occurs somewhere in the text in the Citation part.
  • Does not contain – Returns true if the comparand text does not occur somewhere in the text in the Citation part.
  • Matches – Returns true if the text in the Citation part matches the Regular Expression in the comparand. Regular Expressions in GedSite are always case-insensitive.
  • Does not match – Returns true if the text in the Citation part does not match the Regular Expression in the comparand. Regular Expressions in GedSite are always case-insensitive.
  • Ends with – Returns true if the text in the Citation part ends with the comparand text.
  • Does not end with – Returns true if the text in the Citation part does not end with the comparand text.

Comparand

Set the Comparand to the text you want to compare to the Citation part.

Title

Use the Title property to set the title of the filter term. GedSite will set the title automatically when you change one of the other properties. If you want to use your own title, set the Title property after you set the other term properties.
